| In other news...I've decided to stop updating my Xanga, as it's much easier for me to update on only one website, and most of my friends are all using livejournal. So, if anyone is interested in keeping up with the happenings of my life, feel free to look at my blog on
http://www.livejournal.com/users/brinnet/
My user name remains: brinnet
and if you make a screenname on the site ( http://www.livejournal.com ) yourself, let me know by leaving me a comment somewhere, and I'll add you as a friend!
Until the future, Chau!

Oh goodness. I’m
feeling a strange cross between bored and overwhelmed. I spent the past 3 days in darkness, as our
electricity was out due to the happy California
storms that have been taking place.
Prior to that there was Amanda and Andrew visiting. However, crummy weather kept us indoors,
petting cats, playing board games, and chatting. Fortunately they were only here for two days,
and so they managed to escape before the blackouts, and Amanda was able to
actually do some site seeing. I think there may be a plan to steal her away
in the summer. But we shall see.
I can’t even remember if I’ve updated since I’ve returned
from Ecuador. I’m back, obviously, in any case. School starts up on the 16th, I do
believe. But I’m heading up on the 13th
so I can move in on the 14th, so I can set up everything and be
ready to go to work on the 16th.
It should be scrumdiddlyumptious.
I’ve been busy putting away randomness from Ecuador,
and pulling boxes out of my closet (for those of you who don’t know, the
majority of my belongings are boxed up and stored in a clothing closet because after
I left high school I moved into the converted garage downstairs. My siblings and I humbly refer to it as “the
dungeon”. In any case, I had to peruse
through the boxes to find a book that I had packed away during my sophomore
year at some point, and pull out other various things for prepping to go to Willamette. I’m glad I don’t have to bring a refrigerator
this year because Kyasarin has one…so I’m going to bring my vacuum instead. It should be delightful. Relatively clean floors all the time!
…I’m a cleaning geek.
Anyway, so…yep. Other
than that, there’s not much to do in the …eep, 10 days before I return back to Willamette. I’m going to drop off 2 belated Christmas
gifts for my friends in the area, I’ll meet up with my high school friend, Brandy, tomorrow for some Ecuadorian
retelling…and to catch up on her life.
And then I shall need to go shopping at some point so I don’t have a
whole lot of nothing when I get up to Willamette.
I can’t believe how quickly everything is going. It seems like only yesterday I was in Ecuador
counting the seconds until I go home.
And now I’m home, knowing I’ll soon be at Willamette
working on theses and, well…working. But
I will be quite happy to be back in my Willamette dorm (which, honestly, feels
a bit more like “my room” than my room at home”) and to see my friends once
again.
Until the next time,

| This is Halloween. This is Halloween. Halloween, Halloween, Halloween, Halloween…
Or not. But it really ought to be. Or something.
I want to listen to that soundtrack. It’s amazing and makes me want to run in happy little circles.
° o O o O o O (happy little circles)
mrawr!
Okay, I’m just pleased, because I finished my very last obligation (ignoring the email I must send my professor with my completed essay…which I only need to edit for a few basic grammar errors). I’m going to Otavalo this weekend to buy an excessive quantity of items, and then on Wednesday at a far-too-early-hour-in-the-morning.
Grrr…Andrew is harassing me. I miss my friends. They would protect me.
Andrew disagrees. But I know they would. Otherwise they wouldn’t get gifts from Ecuador!
…okay, maybe no one’s getting anything. Ha hahahahahahahaha. You know…I’m gonna go do my essay.
| For something different...a recap of my 2005, using the first sentence or two from the first blog entry of every month!
January: Happy New Year! or so we hope... I'm over at my father's house today, and after we went shopping there, my brother and I played an X-men game on the xbox and it is much fun (I also just realized that that's quite a lot of x's for an average English sentence...)
February: Oh so tired…Around 8:30pm tonight (well, technically, it was on the 6th), I noticed that there was a sign next to my door for a girl named Miho…
March (on Livejournal): You know, I don't think I've actually ever posted on this thing, even though I've had it for a while.
April: A cloud separates from the others in the sky, and slowly begins to descend. As the cloud approaches the ground, a figure shakes its head slightly, and sits up vertically with a semi-dazed look on her face.
May: Awww. No more bowling club… until January 2006, that is. How triste!
June: Death of a Willamette Student... Well, wow. Andrew called twice today.
July: Well, I suppose an update is in store. I mean, it’s been, what? Days? Yes, days, indeed.
August: Hola Todos! Well, I'm here in Ecuador…I´ve been here awhile, actually.
September: Oh, bother. I’m not sure what to say. USFQ began on Tuesday…the…ehm, 30th, I think.
October: Well, here’s to another update *raises an imaginary glass* This weekend consisted of Riobamba.
November: The Vegetarian Whopper: Well, let’s get the bad news out of the way.
December: There’s a good chance I’ll end up going to Tena this weekend.
| So, yay for good news! I got the IPA position at TIUA. Of course, I still have to pass the van driving test, but I don’t foresee any problems with this. Right now I only have 8 hours a week, but whatever. That’s still, like, $50 a week that I didn’t have before. And I also have my job with TIUA as a tutor (unless it is mysteriously revoked without my having known of it). So, that’s another 6 hours a week. Yay for being able to pay off some of my large amounts of debt!
So, ehm, yep. That’s all for right now!
Oh, and I emailed Loftus (the professor of the Japanese Literature in Translation class that I want to take), and he said that I’m basically assured a spot in his class, despite the fact that I’m on the waitlist. (but…I’m also either first or second on the waitlist).
Yay for life. | | |
